Most Disgusting Post Ever By John Zuhlsdorf

Pope Francis accepted Cardinal Donald Wuerl's resignation today.  Those More Catholic Than the Pope ("TMCTP"), a/k/a those who hate Pope Francis, consider this a mighty victory.  They feel they are personally responsible for bringing the "downfall" of Cardinal Wuerl, and are hopeful that this will eventually lead to the grand prize - the downfall of Pope Francis himself.

One of the leaders in the war against Pope Francis is Father John Zuhlsdorf, and he took this "golden moment" to gloat and sneer at Pope Francis.

Remember, Zuhlsdorf is the same guy who said it is perfectly fine to pray for the death of Pope Francis.

This is the shot taken by Zuhlsdorf at the Vicar of Christ and it is truly one of the most disgusting displays ever by a Catholic priest.

Notice that Zuhlsdorf uses only the name "Francis", not even referring the Holy Father as "Pope":

Today at last Francis accepted the heavily embroiled Card. Wuerl’s resignation.

Card. Wuerl turned 75 over two years ago. As the law requires he was to submit his resignation.    It was not accepted at the time.  Wuerl submitted another in September.

They’ve given it a lot of coverage.

I’ve read it.  I won’t comment on it, right now, for the sake of my and your blood pressure.  I have a doctor’s appointment coming up this morning.

In the WSJ account, however, I found this interesting line:

Cardinal Wuerl is now the second prominent U.S. Church official to be brought down by the sex-abuse scandal this year.

As one of my correspondents wrote today:

Zuhlsdorf is actually keeping score on who is "ahead" in the spiritual battle in the Church, likening it to watching a baseball game, rooting for your favorite team. 

Disgusting beyond words.

The only reason Zuhlsdorf posted this is to incite hatred and rebellion among his readers against Pope Francis.  There can be no other explanation.

Zuhlsdorf dares to consider this a "victory".  This is coming from a Catholic priest who made a promise before God and man to give total obedience to the Church.  Our Lord does not view these promises lightly.

As I have written over and over, we are in the midst of a spiritual war.  If you want to know which side is supported by the Holy Spirit, look at their fruits.

The Holy Spirit is never the cause of hatred and division.

The enemies of the Church are becoming emboldened.   The Evil One is celebrating as his pawns sow the seeds of division and destruction. 

I hope they realize before it is too late that it is their own destruction they are orchestrating.
