EWTN Officially Jumps the Shark: No Longer Catholic

Raymond Arroyo, EWTN's own beloved Pee Wee Herman, announced The World Over's Best and Worst Persons of 2018 on its last show of 2018.  And sadly, it was no shocker.

As I have discussed many, many times on this blog, Raymond Arroyo and his buddies have consistently and repeatedly criticized and denounced Pope Francis and everything he does and says.  They have done so through half truths and outright lies.

Arroyo and his buddies have also exalted and praised anyone who has stood in defiance against Pope Francis.

And of course, no one has taken a bigger stand against Pope Francis than Archbishop Carlo Maria Vigano, who broke every promise and vow of loyalty he made as priest and bishop when he called for the resignation of Pope Francis, an action which no human being on earth has the right or authority to do.

From Vigano's first testimony:
Francis is abdicating the mandate which Christ gave to Peter to confirm the brethren. Indeed, by his action he has divided them, led them into error, and encouraged the wolves to continue to tear apart the sheep of Christ’s flock.

In this extremely dramatic moment for the universal Church, he must acknowledge his mistakes and, in keeping with the proclaimed principle of zero tolerance, Pope Francis must be the first to set a good example for cardinals and bishops who covered up McCarrick’s abuses and resign along with all of them.
Vigano tried to backtrack on this in this third testimony, when he reversed himself and wrote that he was not calling for the overthrow of the papacy.  But it was too late.  No one was paying any attention to that.  The damage was done.

By writing his "testimony", Vigano disgraced himself as a bishop.  As even Father Raymond  de Souza, no fan of Pope Francis, admitted:
Whatever the truth or falsity of the claims made by Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò in his “testimony” calling for the resignation of Pope Francis, it is indisputable that he spectacularly violated the pontifical secret he swore an oath to keep.
de Souza's conclusion is that the Pontifical Secret will never be the same.  But de Souza is wrong.  What will never be the same is Archbishop Vigano's standing in the Church and his authority as a bishop.

None of this makes any difference to those who worship Vigano as a hero.  Nor do they care that a little over a month ago he was found guilty of defrauding his brother, also a priest, of over $2 million of inheritance, and he also defrauded his sister.

And this certainly makes no difference to Raymond "Pee Wee" Arroyo, who has named Vigano "The World Over's Best Person of the Year."

Here is Arroyo's announcement:

The best person of 2018 is Archbishop Carlo Maria Vigano. His testimony clearly changed the dynamic of the year, his charges helped to internationalize awareness of the corporate silence that permitted malefactors to rise through the ranks of the Church. The questions he raised still have not been answered but the effects of Vigano's testimony will be felt well into 2019.
Arroyo then names Theodore McCarrick as "Worst Person of the Year."  But of course, we all know that he really wanted to give that honor to Pope Francis.  Ah well, maybe next year.

Pope Francis is the Vicar of Christ.  He is Peter, and as Catholics, we owe our complete loyalty to him.  As Our Lord told us in Luke 10:16:
“The one who hears you hears me, and the one who rejects you rejects me, and the one who rejects me rejects him who sent me.”
Through their unquestioning and full support of Archbishop Vigano, who has declared himself an enemy of Pope Francis, EWTN has now openly declared themselves as enemies of the Pope and, as a consequence, enemies of Jesus Christ.

EWTN is no longer Catholic.  It is time for an interdiction by the Church, as Father Antonio Spadaro called for in February 2018.

Just as the Bishop of Detroit forbade Michael Voris from calling his organization "Catholic," so now EWTN should be forbidden from identifying as Catholic.

Whether this is officially done or not, the fact remains that EWTN is no longer Catholic.

2019 should be an interesting year indeed.

  2. Raymond Arroyo is basically a charlatan. I was not a big fan of Mother Angelica but it's obvious he schmoozed her and got in her good graces to get where he is today and that is just plain terrible. He used her. His biography on his website says about his education;"Mr. Arroyo is a graduate of New York University's Tisch School of the Arts where he studied with some of the finest acting instructors in the world, among them: Stella Adler, Bobby Lewis, Uta Hagen, and Beatrice Straight. He has acted and directed in New York and London". he learned well. He certainly seems to have ignored what Cardinal Mueller said about the whole Vigano story in a November 28 interview for Crux. As you know the cardinal condemned Vigano. He's such good catholic ripping the pope apart. One has to wonder what financial fortune Arroyo has amassed for himself on Angelica's dime. And your right he does look like Pee Wee Herman. Seasons greeting to you!!

  3. I wonder what "EWTN News Nightly" anchor Lauren Ashburn personally thinks of Archbishop Carlo Maria Vigano.

    2. Why not, Catholic in Brooklyn? Is Lauren Ashburn even worse than Christine Niles?

By the way, Catholic in Brooklyn, what is your current opinion of Fox News and the mainstream media in general? Believe it or not, Michael Voris has been critical of Fox News in the past.

    3. I do not trust ANY mainstream media. Our news is so controlled. We are involved in wars across the globe, yet we never hear about any of them. All we hear is news that will keep the nation divided. I do not trust any US media sources. Fox is only the most blatant.

This is just my own personal opinion, but I find Ashburn to be completely phony. She is way too dramatic and of course, is tainted with EWTN's anti-Francis slant. I can't even stand the sound of Ashburn's voice.

At least Niles comes across as professional, and her voice isn't like nails on a blackboard like Ashburn's voice is.

But that is all my opinion. Anyone and everyone can disagree with me.

    4. Catholic in Brooklyn, how is Lauren Ashburn overdramatic? Are you suspicious of even "PBS NewsHour"? Is there a media outlet that you DO trust?

By the way, I sent you an email. Reply to it as soon as possible.

    5. PBS is better than most, giving more in depth coverage. But they still cover all the same stories, still causing not uncovering the real rot in our country, which is with the wealthy elite and the corporations who control everything, especially our government.

Ashburn comes off as phony to me in her presentation. I just do not like her. Maybe it has something to do with my distrust of EWTN in general. Just my opinion. FWIW.

  4. Arroyo and EWTN and other 'news sites' like them are making a huge mistake. I haven't watched EWTN - only occasionally do I tune in to see what PeeWee has to offer, and rarely do I watch the whole show. As Jim points out - he ignored what Cardinal Mueller had to say.

    1. I have given up on almost all Catholic media. I actually do not watch EWTN anymore, but I just happened to see this video on YouTube. Otherwise I would have never known.

  5. Raymond Arroyo seems to seek the admiration of Laura Ingraham more then anything else. He honestly seems to be auditioning for a show on FNC. Back when Fr. Coughlin went of the rails he was eventually reined in. Looks like it might be time for the bishops to put their foot down here as well.

    1. Well, H W, is EWTN planning to give Arroyo the boot anytime soon?

    2. I'd put the odds of that at never. I used to go on catholic answers a lot I'm wondering if their staff apologists have jumped the shrk yet?

    3. Raymond Arroyo is basically the face of EWTN. He will leave only if he decides to leave.

    4. Um, does Mr. Arroyo sit on EWTN's board?

    5. EWTN lists Arroyo as a "news expert":

I don't think he is on the Board. Rather difficult to find who is on the Board. Michael Warsaw is CEO. Doug Keck is also on the Board

  6. I just realized that a lot of the thngs the pope has been teaching are all connected. He’s not advocating for Marxism, which would have other consequences because of its materialist presumption. He’s diagnosing the problem that ails humanity, a mindset that puts economic efficiency and profit above human dignity. Old people are abandoned because they are no longer productive. Mothers abort their children because they are scared for the future—afraid of poverty and destitution. The disabled are pushed towards euthanization because employers won’t hire them and they are seen as unproductive. The immigrants—legal or not—their struggles as human means nothing if they take away whatever scant resources are available to the working class. The only way to make money is to help those who have money make more. The environment suffers from the tragedy of the commons. Global poverty, we accept it because we think that it’s always been this way. If we don’t eat others, others will eat us.

Juxtaposed against all that are Catholic teachings on the dignity of man, the idea that the entire human race is a family and the universal destination of goods. IpSocialism also treats the individual as a means of production.

    1. That is very discerning. What it really all comes down to is devaluing human life and making material gain your goal and god in life.

It has been quoted so many times that it is a cliche, and the problem is that it is usually misquoted, but I Timothy 6:10 explains it all in a nutshell:

The love of money is the root of all evil.

It is important to note that this does not say that money itself is evil, but it is the LOVE of money that leads to all evil. And that is exactly what we are seeing in our world. It is literally leading to the entire destruction of our precious planet and everyone and everything on it. And this is exactly what Pope Francis is fighting against.

Of course, the capitalists hate the Holy Father for this.
